I’m on the last day on my 3 Day Detox, the initial kick start phase of the Complete Detox Cleanse Nourish. It does wonders, and I love doing it every now and then – it was much needed after an indulgent holiday in Melbourne!

These are some of the things I have eaten over the past few days. Detoxing certainly doesn’t have to deprive the tastebuds! It’s not steak for sure, but these meals are still yummy.

Excuse the horrible photo, but my Clean Green Soup is SO good. Even John really loved it, going back for seconds both nights! Only thing he said was missing was a crusty fresh bread roll with butter! That’s what you get with a half-Italian man!

My cleansing, refreshing and tasty Lean Green Smoothie. I am SO in love with my Froothie Optimum blender, it makes this so smooth and they really don’t taste as good when lumpy.

And lastly, just being prepared on the road. Gotta keep up the food intake during the detox!

One of my favourite meals I made, was these super yummy Zoodles (that’s zucchini noodles for the uninitiated) that is entirely vegetable based and fits into the detox phase perfectly. It feels like a real “meal” and is actually something I would eat again, I didn’t even miss it not having chicken or meat in it.

You can leave out the Tandoori spice blend or try adding any other spices. Just make sure it is a quality blend like Herbie’s or make your own!

Zoodles

Detox Tandoori Avocado Mushroom Zoodles

Ingredients
2 zucchini
300g mushrooms
1/4 cauliflower
Dressing:
1 avocado
Juice half a lemon
1/2 tsp Tandoori spice blend (Herbie’s)
Himalayan sea salt
Cracked black pepper

Method
You can make this totally raw, but I prefer to cook the mushrooms and cauliflower. If you want to make it raw, then skip to step three.

  1. Slice the mushrooms and cook in a non-stick pan. If doing the 3 Day Detox, don’t add any oil, they will cook up nicely without it I promise! About 8-10 mins will do.
  2. Chop up the cauliflower into small pieces and roast at 200C for 20-25 mins or until slightly charred.
  3. Use a vegetable spiraller to make the zucchini into noodles, or slice finely. Set all veggies aside.
  4. In a large bowl, mash the avocado, lemon juice, tandoori spice blend, salt and pepper.
  5. Add the prepared veggies to the bowl and mix well. Serve and enjoy!
